On August 13 the 18th edition of the Leadville 100 MTB race was held under bright sunny skies and warm temperatures. Todd Wells won the men's division in 6 hours, 23 minutes, 38 seconds while Rebecca Rusch smashed her own record set last year by 16 minutes winning the women's division in 7 hours, 31 minutes, 45 seconds.
The Leadville Trail race series started with the Leadville Trail 100 with just 45 runners in 1983, the Leadville Race Series now stretches across three months, and hosts thousands of racers on foot and in the saddle. Endurance athletes worldwide now make the pilgrimage to Leadville, Colorado, with the single goal of competing in a “Race Across the Sky".
